Michelle Elyse Photography

Michelle Elyse Photography is a wedding photography team led by Michelle Elyse, who describes her work as editorial and documentary with a fine art eye. Her FAQ says she travels for 50 to 75% of her weddings and works most often in the Virginia and DC region, New York, Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

How they work

Coverage centers on candid moments, with gently guided portraits and quick family formals where couples want them. Couples who want fully documentary coverage can skip posed photos altogether. The site describes a natural light approach with deeper shadows and a moody, rich edit. Add-ons include film photography shot alongside digital, drone coverage by FAA certified pilots and a video package with a highlight film. Rehearsal dinners, welcome events, day after sessions and full weekend coverage are offered. A questionnaire goes out about a month before the wedding, and edited images arrive in an online gallery with no expiry date. A signed contract and a 25% retainer hold the date.

Who it suits

Couples planning a weekend wedding in Montauk or at a family home who want every event covered in a documentary style, and who like a darker, richer look. It is less suited to couples who want a set price from the website, or a bright and airy edit.
