Sperry Tents Hamptons
Sailcloth tents on wood poles, with flooring, lighting and lounge furniture, from a Southampton office and Water Mill warehouse.
Sperry Tents Hamptons rents Sperry sailcloth tents and the floors, lighting and furniture that go under them. It has a sales office on Main Street in Southampton and a warehouse on Hayground Road in Water Mill.
How they work
The tents are made of breathable sailcloth on solid wood poles, built by hand in small batches by the Sperry family’s fabric business in Massachusetts. Alongside them the company rents a Losberger structure tent with a clear top and black frame, sail shades, wood flooring, a stage and dance floor, a Sperry Arch, and lighting from bistro strings and lanterns to chandeliers. Generators, tent heaters, sidewalls and fire pits are listed as accessories. The website has a tent layout planner and directories of East End vendors and venues. Its gallery names a private residence in Sagaponack, the Bridgehampton Club, the Reform Club, Baker House and the Crows Nest.
Who it suits
Couples planning a tented wedding at a private home, club or inn who want the peaked, soft look of sailcloth and would rather book the tent, floor and lights from one company. It is less suited to couples who want a price list before they call, as none is published, or who want a plain frame tent at the lowest cost.
