The Baker House 1650
A historic inn on Main Street where your party takes the whole Carriage House, and you bring in your own caterer.
The Baker House 1650 is a small inn in the middle of East Hampton village, and for a wedding it stops being a hotel. Your party reserves the Carriage House or the Main House outright, so there are no strangers at the pool or in the garden.
The setting
The grounds are private and planted, with lawn and garden used for the ceremony, cocktails and photographs. Here Comes The Guide lists 100 guests indoors and 125 outdoors for a seated ceremony or dinner. Weddings require booking all six rooms of the Carriage House, so the people closest to you sleep a few steps from where you marry.
Who it suits
Couples who want a village wedding rather than a resort one: the church, the inn and Main Street all within a short walk. It also suits couples who want to choose their own caterer and bar, since both are brought in. It is not the right fit for a guest list much over 125, or for couples who want one venue to handle food and drink.
Good to know
- Catering and alcohol are bring your own (Here Comes The Guide), so budget for a full-service caterer and bar on top of the rental fee.
- Amplified music is allowed indoors and outdoors (Here Comes The Guide).
- The inn’s staff act as concierge on the day, and the venue publishes a pricing sheet and a bride guide on its wedding page.
