The Maidstone

The Maidstone is a boutique hotel in the historic district of East Hampton Village. It reopened in summer 2024 under LDV Hospitality as LDV at The Maidstone, with an Italian restaurant led by Chef Jorge Espinoza of Scarpetta.

The setting

The garden sits behind the main building, under greenery and string lights, and the hotel names weddings among the events it hosts there. It seats 110 for dinner or holds 160 for cocktails. Inside, the Main Dining Room has a fireplace and banquettes and seats 48, or 100 for a reception, with the bar next door for a cocktail hour. Couples can also take one of the two-level cottages, or buy out the whole hotel, including the restaurant, bar, garden, cottages and guest rooms.

Who it suits

Couples with a guest list of roughly 100 or fewer who want to be on Main Street, within walking distance of the village. It also works for a rehearsal dinner or a welcome party. It is not for a wedding of 200 or more, and couples should ask early about the plan if the weather turns.

Good to know

• The hotel’s events page lists the garden as an additional 110 seated on top of the Dining Room’s 48. Ask whether a buyout can combine both for one wedding.
• The hotel offers preferred group rates for room blocks, whether the event is on site or nearby.
