East End Entertainment

East End Entertainment is a DJ and live music company based in Westhampton Beach. Owner Michael Variale started as a solo DJ in 1992, played his first Hamptons summer in 1993 and incorporated the business in 1999.

How they work

The core offer is a 4 hour reception DJ package with a custom outline, unlimited consultations and music requests, and a site walkthrough. The company says all reception music is mixed live, with no breaks, and announcements kept to the ones that are needed. Couples can add live players to the DJ set, such as sax, percussion, guitar, keyboards or vocals, or book a string ensemble or acoustic guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail hour. It also offers live bands, including Noiz, which it says can run from 3 to 12 pieces, and The Mystic, a live cover band. Ceremony sound, uplighting, dance floor lighting and a photo booth are also offered. For beach and remote sites there is a wireless DJ booth that needs no venue power.

Who it suits

Couples marrying anywhere from Westhampton to Montauk, Shelter Island or the North Fork who want ceremony sound, music and lighting from one team. Its own price guide shows work at Oceanbleu, Westhampton Country Club, Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club, Sylvester Manor and Peconic Bay Yacht Club.
