The Barnstorm is a party rock band based in New York City that has played weddings and events since 2008. It travels out to the East End, and its own list of venues played includes 360 East at Montauk Downs, Greenport Harbor Brewing, Bedell Cellars, Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club, Sebonack Golf Club, Mulford Farm and The Clubhouse in East Hampton.
How they work
The core reception band has eight members: two male vocalists who also play guitar, a male vocalist who acts as emcee, a female vocalist, drums, bass, keys and saxophone. Extra horns and an electric violin can be added on request. The band says it brings full audio and lighting production to every event, which matters at tented and private estate weddings where the venue supplies little. For the ceremony there is a string quartet or acoustic duo, and for cocktails a string quartet, jazz trio or solo piano.

Couples who want a loud, full dance floor and a band that plays the same lineup at every show. It suits tented and private estate weddings on the South Fork, where the band brings its own production, and vineyard receptions on the North Fork. It is not the right fit for couples who want a quiet, mostly acoustic evening or a DJ led party.
