Hank Lane Music

Hank Lane Music is a band and entertainment agency with offices in Hicksville, on Long Island, and in Manhattan. It is not based on the East End, but its own Long Island page lists many East End venues where its musicians frequently perform.

How they work

The agency books live dance bands and orchestras for receptions, with named bands such as the Erik Marshall Band and the Kenny Ford Band quoted in client testimonials. For the ceremony it offers string ensembles, gospel singers, pianists, soloists and acoustic guitarists, then a string ensemble, jazz band or vocalist for cocktails and dinner. Specialty acts include professional dancers and Broadway style singers. On the production side it lists lighting, dance floors, custom staging, a photo booth and after party food kiosks. Couples are asked to book an in person appointment at an office to talk through music and pick a band.

Who it suits

Couples who want a big choice of bands and like the idea of meeting an event specialist face to face. The East End venues it names include Wölffer Estate, Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club, Topping Rose House, Montauk Yacht Club, Sole East, Gansett Green Manor, the Ram’s Head Inn, the Maidstone Club, East Hampton Point, Westhampton Country Club, Raphael and Martha Clara Vineyards. It is less suited to couples who want a single local musician they can call directly.
